Shawna Freeman

Shawna was born and raised just south of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She grew up involved in sports, FFA and the rodeo world. After college at The University of New Mexico she moved to Seattle Washington with her husband Ames and she started her career in the multifamily industry. Missing the sunshine and family, she and Ames moved closer to home in Denver, CO. They started a family with a son, Lucas and daughter, Delaney. From there, Shawna took a step back to become an involved mom, volunteering her time in the schools, sports programs, community and raising their kids. They moved to Fort Worth in 2018 and absolutely love the weather, people and opportunities. During her years in property management she successfully led teams to lease several 400+ unit lease up properties to 98-99% occupancy. She also helped in the training and development of a 10 property portfolio that led the region in occupancy with employee retention and resident incentive programs. Shawna believes that building relationships is the key to success and she still maintains relationships with past employees and residents. She also worked with real estate investors through the due diligence process during acquisitions, while preparing portfolio presentations and yearly budgets. She has a background in photography and has also taught numerous classes on growing a social media presence as well as promoting health products through attraction marketing and making real connections. She loves finding new trails to hike and new rivers and lakes to Kayak. She also loves photographing cows and old buildings! Shawnacurrently serves on the Byron Nelson Girls basketball board and is also involved in the school. She loves hosting team dinners and sleep overs and loves having the kids in their home.
