An extensive background in design and antiques helps Ida Alyea prepare sellers' and builders' homes to stand out above the competition and guide buyers to envision the possibilities in a less-than-perfect house. A Houston Realtor since 2015, Ida speaks French fluently and works particularly well with Houston's diverse international community, many of whom are native or secondary French speakers.

"I lived and worked as a designer in Paris for 15 years," Ida says. "My company was called Provençal Hippie which started with helping friends out in their homes and then grew into helping clients with renovations and staging homes to get ready for the market. I went to French markets and hand-picked items for homes and resale in the United States. That experience broadened my world view and I am able to work with clients from all cultures and countries. I love meeting new people and including them in my network of clients and friends."

Ida was born in New Orleans and her family relocated to the Middle East for seven years. After returning to the United States, the family moved several more times between Louisiana and Texas before settling permanently in Sugar Land where Ida graduated from Marian Christian High School. She went to work for the Houston Chronicle, met her husband Philippe, who is French, and moved to Paris where they had their son. They returned to Houston in 2015. When time permits, Ida volunteers for the St. Thomas High School Booster Club and plays HLTA league tennis at The Houstonian Club.
