“I traveled to Houston, TX with my best friend in 2018, on that trip I fell in love with the city and everything that it has to offer There are endless events and a multitude of cultures being highlighted and celebrated Diversity is extremely important to me having a mixed race family I was trying to convince my husband to leave the cold Midwest and once I came to visit I knew this is where I wanted to be, but my husband had never been Houston was on my mind but not yet on his My brother in law moved to Phoenix so we followed I was excited to just leave the cold any way possible, so I was willing to give it a go . However, once we realized that it was not a good fit for our family I booked a flight to Houston, praying that my husband would see it my way after all We contacted Ellen via recommendation, she was immediately willing to meet up, she sat with us at a cute little diner and discussed everything we could ask and settled our hearts on specific concerns Once we got back to Phoenix the decision was made .. “After being born and raised in Maryland, my husband and I decided that when our youngest graduated we would fly south. The 4 months prior to moving were a whirlwind, I graduated nursing school, acquired a job at Woman s Hospital of Texas, sent my youngest off to the Marine Corps, helped my oldest buy our home in MD, took a 2-week dream vacation to Costa Rica and then bought our home here in Texas the day after Looking from the outside in, one might think we were crazy to take on all of that in such a short time but they didn t have Ellen Pool and her team From day one, Ellen and her team kept us educated, informed, and on track. The day we scheduled all our viewings our flight was delayed multiple times and Ellen moved mountains to make sure we didn t miss anything. Once we found our home, Todd came out and helped us measure for appliances and showed us things that we may not be familiar with coming from MD. Ellen got us under contract, Todd helped us negotiate the inspection and potential repairs, and her team was regularly in contact recommending resources and helping me to pull it all together. Then on the other side was Kayla Tyroch and her team tying up all the loose ends for financing and getting us cleared to close. Everyone we worked with through this process was fantastic and made the process pretty simple. They were flexible and patient- I can t tell you how many calls were scheduled for in between classes or late-night emails after a 12-hour hospital shift I really can t say enough about everyone, all I can say is THANK YOU ALL ”
