Even though many of the older homes are gone, been replaced by much larger ones, Peggy Dunne still loves the friendly atmosphere of Houston’s older inner-Loop neighborhoods that she knew as a child growing up in West University Place. She brings this feeling of community and caring to her relationships with her clients.
Peggy, a member of the Martha Turner Sotheby's International Realty Circle of Excellence, believes that good, honest communication is the single most important factor leading to a successful sale. “I consider myself a straight shooter,” says Peggy, “and this clears the way for a smooth relationship. My clients appreciate this up-front approach and I believe it makes for satisfied buyers and sellers at closing.” No wonder much of her business over the years has come from repeat and referral clients.
Peggy obtained her real estate license in 1980 and immediately achieved top producer status. Her extensive experience, technological edge and skilled negotiation and transaction skills give her clients a real advantage in Houston’s competitive real estate market.
A graduate of Lamar High School and the University of Houston, Peggy is married and the mother of three adult daughters. She and her husband are active supporters of Houston Public Television, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Boys and Girls Country, and the Foundation Fighting Blindness. Peggy enjoys traveling with her children and grandchildren, golfing, reading and going to the movies.

50 Years of Excellence in Real Estate
Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty’s Broker Associate Marlene Rhoden has over 45 years of practicing real estate and more than 25 years with Martha Turner Properties. A native Houstonian, Marlene comes from a long line of Houston entrepreneurs. Her grandfather founded the Dentler Maid Potato Chips Company. Marlene received her broker’s license in 1967 and sold commercial real estate for several years but “it was not a good fit for me or women in general in those years,” she says. She moved to residential real estate, selling first in Houston and then in Fort Worth, where she developed a successful business and sold the most expensive home then listed with MLS.
Returning to Houston in the late 1970s, Marlene became a partner with commercial Realtors Benton & Gould and opened Carriage Realty, which she later operated as sales manager. In 1988, she merged the company with Martha Turner Properties now Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty. “That turned out to be a good move,” says Marlene. “It’s been a friendly association and a financial success.”
Marlene has been a member of the Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty’s Circle of Excellence for 25 years and belongs to the Hall of Fame, Pinnacle-level. She is a graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI), holds Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Certified Residential Broker (CRB), and Certified negotiation Expert (CNE) designations, and was named one of Houston’s top 25 Realtors by the Houston Business Journal.
Marlene attributes her success to strong spirituality and paying careful attention to each client’s special needs and individual wishes. Her greatest delight is surpassing clients’ highest expectations. “I am thankful to be doing the job I love – helping place people in the home of their dreams,” Marlene says. “‘I can sell your home’ are the five positive words that I live and work by every day.”
