I was a Singaporean, now a U.S. citizen, who pursued both my bachelor's and master's degrees in Finance at the University of San Francisco. After serving in the Singapore Armed Forces and gaining experience in the banking sector until 1993, I embarked on a new journey by relocating to Guam. There, I established a successful wholesale business catering to local hotels, supermarkets, restaurants, and retail stores. My family, consisting of my wife and three boys, made a significant move to Houston, Texas in 2006, driven by the aspiration to provide our children with a superior education in the United States. Fluent in languages such as Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, I expanded my professional horizons by obtaining my Real Estate Salesperson license in 2007 and subsequently securing my Broker license in 2011. When listing a home for sale, Jeff subscribes to total honesty and admits to being brutally frank with his sellers about pricing and staging the home. “I tell people who want to sell their home, ‘You have hired me and this is no longer your home, it is a piece of property.’ We then go through the property room by room and I tell them what needs to be done before presenting it to potential buyers.”
A life-long Houstonian, Jeff knows the city’s neighborhoods, even the “pocket neighborhoods” which are often overlooked. “I don’t feel like I am doing a good job if I show my clients 60 or 75 houses before finding them their next home. I determine their price range and exactly what they are looking for straight away, and then I narrow the search,” Jeff says. “People are busy and I know how valuable my clients’ time is.”
