Howdy-do!

I'm Debra with the RE/MAX Bastrop area team. Let me tell you a bit about myself. I am a 5th generation Texan who has lived in Bastrop County for over 17 years. I am originally from Plano and moved with my family to Austin in 1977 (back when Austin was called a town and not a city). Since my family lived in North Austin out of the city limits, I attended Pflugerville schools when the population was only 300! From that moment on, I knew I liked the country atmosphere, but wanted to be close to a large town. I attended Southwest Texas State Alumni (now Texas State) where I pursued a Bachelor of Arts Degree with focus on journalism, business, and marketing. While in Austin I owned and operated a variety of businesses including the first home and pet-sitting service in the area. At the time when people still used Yellow Pages (I am aging myself now), they had to create a whole new page for "pet-sitting services" for my business. Other businesses I owned were an interior design/landscape design company and a medical billing company.

Even though having my own businesses was rewarding, the best job I still have is being a Mom first and foremost. This job is the one I am most proud of and have made family and GOD my first priority. I think "life is a rollercoaster" is a wonderful ride I want to keep experiencing. In my free time I like cycling, working on home improvement projects, spending time with my family and volunteering in many community organizations. You will find me working at the animal shelters and visiting the elderly at nursing facilities.

The words "quit" and "can't" are not included in my vocabulary. I understand that being a knowledgeable Realtor® should be combined with experience, determination, and understanding. My tenacity is equal only to the relationships I form with my clients. The client-Realtor® relationship is a privilege for me. In addition to real estate, Kelly enjoys spending time with friends and family, walking with her dog (they can be spotted on the river trail and around town almost every day), kayaking, reading, and drinking espresso!

Helping people build wealth through real estate is Shawna's passion and what she loves to do. Shawna Byler is a Texas native, born and raised in central Texas. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Radiation Therapy at Texas State University, she provided high quality radiation therapy treatment to cancer patients. Shawna then furthered her career as a clinical and technical oncology support specialist supporting radiation therapy linear accelerator treatment units, medical dosimetry cancer treatment planning software, and oncology imaging software throughout the United States and Canada.

Her fondness, natural ability, and passion for helping people led her to a career in Real Estate. Shawna Byler is well-rounded and understands the importance of meeting your individual needs. As a keen negotiator and marketer, she always strives to sell properties for top dollar. Shawna is committed to making the process of buying or selling property a pleasant smooth experience.
