Drawn by the lure of the sea, Marks and his family relocated to Galveston in mid-2015 and now call the beautiful Texas gulf coast home. As a resident and professional in this coastal region, he is intimately familiar with the unique issues related to coastal living, specifically coastal insurance issues (flood, wind), differing building codes and construction requirements. Marks brings a wealth of experience in home renovation, commercial construction, and historic restoration, valuable knowledge given the amount of older homes and historic buildings on the island.

Marks started his career managing a variety of large public assembly, multi-use and commercial properties in markets across the United States. After 25 years of operating commercial properties, 2012 found him jumping into the world of residential real estate, launching his practice in Las Vegas, Nevada. As you can imagine, real estate, like everything else in Las Vegas, was dynamic and always moving, and he quickly became a top producer within his brokerage.


When Marks is not immersed in the world of real estate, he enjoys playing golf on the island's golf courses, nurturing vibrant tropical plants and relishing the freshest local seafood. Simple pleasures include exploring the island on his golf cart, sunset gatherings with friends and quiet time on his porch enjoying the breeze off the water.

After handling marketing for a Real Estate Company while attending Pearland High School, Joe developed a passion for real estate and obtained his license soon after high school graduation. Having also spent time working for a start up company in the Houston area, Joe brings a wide variety of skills that make the real estate transaction as simple as possible for his clients. His vast knowledge of the Houston area combined with his extensive knowledge of the real estate process streamlines the home buying and selling process for his clients.

Earning her real estate license in 2006, Kari had previously worked in the real estate industry for nearly a decade. Beginning in the title industry, while working for a real estate attorney in Virginia Beach where she grew up, she learned the techniques and strategies used by investors to acquire properties. After moving to Texas in 1998, it wasn't long before Kari began investing in real estate herself, purchasing both rentals and rehabilitation projects. Kari uses savvy negotiations and cutting-edge marketing strategies to join uncompromising integrity as the hallmark of her service. In 2019, Kari joined her husband Randy Barr in opening the new brokerage, Barr & Associates Real Estate, LLC. Their goal is simple: to foster the agent/client relationship.
