10 months, 23 days, and approximately 7 hours ago a license was issued to Brittany Jere McKinney announcing to the world that she was academically capable of being your realtor! Five houses sold and $80,000 later, I am writing to you today. NOT! Yeah right... unfortunately, in this business sh*t just doesn't happen that way. Hopefully, you will join in on this journey with me as I grow as your Realtor! Actually by striving hard to maintain my unorthodox way of doing things, I have been utilizing this time to educate myself, taking courses, networking, attending panels and conferences, reading blogs, Business Journals, real estate news, marketing trends, interviewing, and trying to decide the perfect fit with a broker to hang my license all while cooking and exploring my vegan/lacto-ovopescatarianlifestyle, attending musicals, basketball practice, speeding to Mixed Martial Arts practice, school dances, tournaments, round tables at dinner time, slacking on some chores, and taking care of my boys. Did I mention I have three sons (one set of eight year old twins and a ten year old). How does one juggle this life? I never thought you'd ask! With a loving partner' support, post it notes, cell reminders & alerts, maybe 4 to 5 hours of sleep, a chocolate martini or couple shots ofHennessey(yeah the hard stuff), and lots of prayer; I am able to successfully transition in my Real Estate career, be an awesome mom to my boys, an amazing partner, sister, friend, and live a happy life doing what I love. I once heard someone say excuses are bridges that lead to nowhere. I myself used to say, "I'm not financially ready to dive in full time", or " I don't have the necessary resources" , or " this is scary to transition into a new field, but that has all changed because my mindset changed from wanting a job to actually living in my purpose of helping others one interaction at a time and setting an example for my boys. You can too!
