October What’s Going On In The Woodlands

OCTOBER, my favorite of all the months. Yours truly has her birthday in this beautiful month and it host my favorite holiday, Halloween. The popularity of Halloween has increased year after year. Television, movies, and other media outlets have helped Halloween grow into America’s second largest commercial holiday, which brings in an estimated $6.9 billion dollars annually. Traditional activities include trick-or-treating, bonfires, costume parties, visiting “haunted houses” and carving jack-o-lanterns. Please remember to be safe during Halloween.  Looking for something fun, safe and festive this Halloween? There are a number of activities and events going on in and around The Woodlands.

What to Eat?

CorkScrew BBQ

CorkScrew has the BEST BBQ  I have had it some time. CorkScrew was located on Budde Rd. but have relocated to Old Town Spring. Corkscrew is located at Old Town, 26608 Keith St, Spring, TX 77373. Owned and operated by Will and Nichole Buckman, who live and breathe CorkScrew BBQ. They recognize that the most important thing is the customer, and continuing to create delicious fresh BBQ for them is top priority.  Staying small helps to ensure that the restaurant doesn’t become too much and the quality starts to slip. So with CorkScrew what you see is what you get.  The atmosphere is like being at a backyard BBQ. I hope you will give them a shot. Get there early and note, there will be a line.  They sell out everyday!! Open 11am till SOLD OUT!

Texas Renaissance Festival

The Texas Renaissance Festival is an interactive theme park that embraces different eras, including the 16th century and beyond. The festival opens weekends beginning October 10 through November 29. The enchanted 55-acre village comes to life as all of Europe comes to pay homage to the King and Queen with eight themed weekends. Hundreds of costumed performers are showcased in over 200 daily performances. Visitors meander along shaded cobblestone walkways visiting almost 400 shoppes overflowing with unique arts and crafts of offering delicious foods and beverages. All ages will be amused by the games of skill and human-powered rides. Revel in the sights, sounds, smells, tastes and beauty of this authentically recreated 16th Century British village with lush landscaped grounds and vines. A perfect day ends as you behold the burst of Royal Fireworks held above the festival’s lake.
