Everything Old is BRAND New Again!

Like the song, everything in this (old) house is NEW again - and it’s fantastic! (See VIDEO TOUR linked in this post.)

This 1953 traditional Ranch home in Garden Oaks Houston was taken down to its sturdy studs and built back up again. They just don’t build them the way they used to and the rock solid foundation and rafters in ‘This Old House’ (see what I did there?) is proof positive of that.

The truth is not everyone wants a monster mansion. Oh, they’re beautiful to look at, and you’ll be the envy of all your friends if you’re lucky enough to live in a home that’s so big you can hide from your in-laws when they come to visit (I’m not saying you should hide from your in-laws, I’m just saying that you could).

But there’s something to be said about the simplicity of a Mid-Century Ranch - especially this one which has been meticulously and splendidly updated.

  • NEW Roof
  • NEW Electrical Wiring
  • NEW PEX Plumbing
  • NEW Tankless Water Heater
  • NEW HVAC (Including ductwork, outside the unit and inside air handler)
  • NEW double paned Windows
  • NEW Kitchen (w/ new Appliances, Quartz counters and under cabinet lighting)
  • NEW Bathrooms (3 - with gorgeous finishes)
  • NEW soft-close Cabinets throughout
  • NEW In-House Laundry Room (w/ Barn Door - FANCY!)
  • NEW Electrical Panel
  • NEW Insulation
  • Refinished Original Hardwoods
  • 2- Car Garage
  • 3- Car Driveway (!)
  • 361 Sq Ft Guest Apartment (w/ an additional 361 ft.² of 2nd floor storage)

What I’m trying to tell you, in case you haven’t caught on yet… This house is super special! And it’s conveniently located in the Garden oaks/Oak Forest neighborhood of Houston. That’s right all of this beauty and design only 15 minutes from downtown Houston. BTW, that’s with no traffic, during peak traffic hours it will take a little bit longer. But you’re still going to be pretty darn close to downtown, the Med Center, the Galleria, the Theater district, the Museum district, and everything wonderful about the inner loop in Houston, Texas.

Let me ask you something – what are you waiting for?

My name is Cher Duffin, and I’ve lived in and loved Houston for most of my life. Watch the link video tour of this home, and subscribe to my YouTube channel. Thanks for stopping in!
