The design of 26 Rains Way is based on the English Regency townhome of the early 19th century, and is the result of collaboration between noted designers Robert Dame of Houston and Louis Aubert of New Orleans. 
The home overlooks the the Hogg Bird Sanctuary which provides exquisite, private forest views from all three floors, and is conveniently situated between downtown Houston and the Galleria area near Memorial Park. 
Classical detail merges with a free-flowing plan designed for entertaining. 
Banded oak floors, which run throughout the home, are featured here along with views of the greenspaces outside the home.

The recently renovated and custom designed chef's kitchen features a French limestone floor, counter seating, and views of the Hogg Bird Sanctuary.

A wall of French doors provides access to the side garden, designed by the nationally recognized OJB Landscape Architecture firm, containing formal plantings and an antique fountain.

The second-floor guest suite is indeed a suite with a sitting area separated from the bed alcove by a screen of Doric columns. 
The groin-vaulted entry opens to the rotunda rising two and one-half floors to a domed ceiling also features a compass point inlayed in the banded oak floors. The staircase is set discreetly off the rotunda and rises to the upper two floors.
