The Phoenix Academy’s regular student population is 70 with a student-teacher ratio of 2.9 students/teacher ratio. The student population at Mansfield Lake Ridge High School is 2,592 students and a student-teacher ratio of 17.7 students/teacher ratio.
The Phoenix Academy earned a State accountability rating of B (80-89) based on one domain: student achievement. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Mansfield Lake Ridge High School's one out of seven distinction is in with 25% student progress. The Phoenix Academy has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at The Phoenix Academy. They make up for 38.57% of student population, followed by African Americans (37.14%), Whites or Caucasians (18.57%), Two or More Races (4.29%) and Asians (1.43%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
The student population at Mansfield Lake Ridge High School is also predominantly by African Americans at 42.36%, followed by Whites or Caucasians (22.65%), Hispanics (19.41%), Asians (9.92%), Two or More Races (5.44%) and Native Americans (0.23%).
Based on household incomes, The Phoenix Academy’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 62.86% compared to 22.34% at Mansfield Lake Ridge High School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, The Phoenix Academy has 9 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 12.86% of student population. Mansfield Lake Ridge High School has significantly more ELLs at 68 or about 2.62% of student population.
In addition, The Phoenix Academy has 12.86% bilingual students, 1.43% are in the gifted and talented program, while 4.29% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Mansfield Lake Ridge High School with 2.35% bilingual students, 7.99% gifted and talented students and 7.79% students in the special education program.
The Phoenix Academy's 24 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 8 years with individual teaching experience averaging nearly 16 years. Mansfield Lake Ridge High School's 146 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 6.9 years with individual teaching experience averaging close to 12.2 years.
Of its teaching staff, The Phoenix Academy has one teacher only serving the school for over 30 years, has seven teachers serving the school for 20-30 years, 11 teachers have worked for 11-20 years, two teachers have worked for 6-10 years, while four teachers have been serving the school for over 1-5 years, and school has no beginning teacher.
