When we compared Mansfield Frontier Stem Academy, which is a part of MANSFIELD ISD, with Mansfield Timberview High School, which is a part of MANSFIELD ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.
Mansfield Frontier Stem Academy’s regular student population is 156 with a student-teacher ratio of 11.1 students/teacher ratio. The student population at Mansfield Timberview High School is 1,973 students and a student-teacher ratio of 16.4 students/teacher ratio.
Mansfield Frontier Stem Academy performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on two domains: student achievement and school progress. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 97 in student achievement, 91 in school progress and closing performance gaps not applicable. It scored 97 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.
On the other hand, Mansfield Timberview High School earned a State accountability rating of B. The school posted 84 in student achievement, 82 in school progress, 79 in closing performance gaps and 83 overall in post-secondary readiness.
A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
It is in this area where the two schools differ. Mansfield Frontier Stem Academy's five out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and post-secondary. Mansfield Timberview High School’s only distinction designation is in Comparative Academic Growth.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Whites or Caucasians comprise the biggest group at Mansfield Frontier Stem Academy. They make up for 40.38% of student population, followed by Hispanics (20.51%), Asians (17.31%), African Americans (16.03%) and Two or More Races (5.77%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
The student population at Mansfield Timberview High School is also predominantly by African Americans at 47.95%, followed by Hispanics (23.57%), Asians (12.57%), Whites or Caucasians (11.61%), Two or More Races (4.00%) and Native Americans (0.20%).
Based on household incomes, the Mansfield Frontier Stem Academy’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 19.87% compared to 49.92% at Mansfield Timberview High School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Mansfield Frontier Stem Academy has 1 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 0.64% of student population. Mansfield Timberview High School has significantly more ELLs at 120 or about 6.08% of student population.
Mansfield Frontier Stem Academy has no bilingual student, while 0.64% are in the special education program, and 41.03% are in the gifted and talented program students. Mansfield Timberview High School 9.73% are in the special education program, 5.47% are in the gifted and talented program, and bilingual students comprise 5.83% students.
Mansfield Frontier Stem Academy's 14 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 6.1 years with individual teaching experience averaging nearly 9.9 years. Of its teaching staff, Mansfield Frontier Stem Academy no teacher serving the school for over 30 years, has one teacher only serving the school for 20-30 years, four teachers have worked for 11-20 years, four teachers have worked for 6-10 years, while three teachers have been serving the school for over 1-5 years, including one beginning teacher only. Mansfield Timberview High School has two teachers serving the school for over 30 years, has 25 teachers serving the school for 20-30 years, 34 teachers have worked for 11-20 years, 25 teachers have worked for 6-10 years, while 30 teachers have been serving the school for over 1-5 years, including four beginning teachers.
In both schools, female teachers outnumber the male teachers. Mansfield Frontier Stem Academy employs seven female teachers and six male teachers. Of its teaching staff, one special education teacher is being assisted by 14 teachers aides or paraprofessionals. The school also employs three staff members in the school administration department and five more working as school support staff.
On the other hand, Mansfield Timberview High School employs 61 female teachers and 59 male teachers. Of its teaching staff, 13 special education teachers are being assisted by 15 teachers aides or paraprofessionals.
