Living in the south has many advantages. One of those advantages is a relatively short winter. Consider the following exterior maintenance tips for winterizing a home in the south.
- Chimney – Remove ashes and debris from the firebox. Before the first fire is lit in your fireplace, have your chimney cleaned and inspected by a professional chimney professional. It is prudent to check that the damper opens and closes as expected. Make sure there are no bird nests inside or tree limbs overhanging your chimney.
