Normally when I speak with a seller, one of the first questions, if not the first question I'm asked, is when's the best time to put the house on the market? The simple answer is whenever you're ready. However, to be completely fair, it depends.  

The spring and summer months are some of the best times to put your home on the market because parents want to be transitioned during vacation in the coming months. However, people are always moving around for numerous reasons. For example, seasonal jobs, promotions, divorce, marriage, schools, and new opportunities to name a few. The holidays are also a great time to put homes on the market, as the festivities help the new homeonwners feel welcomed. Buyers looking for homes in the fall and winter months tend be serious about buying and you have less sellers to compete with.
