Mercer Botanic Gardens & Arboretum- Spring TX

Here at Jo & Co., we love exploring the surrounding communities and we found a peaceful area to getaway and walk around. Mercer Botanic Gardens & Arboretum are located right off of Aldine Westfield Rd. You will find the botanical gardens on one side of the road and the arboretum with walking paths and playgrounds on the other.

The Mercer Botanic Gardens expand over 180 acres with 60 acres being maintained for visitors to escape to an oasis. Here at the botanical gardens, you're able to explore endangered species, ferns, bamboo, tropical trees and plants, herbs and more. As you walk through the gardens, you will be interacting with nature as you emerge yourself into nature. Listen to the birds chirping as you stroll through the gardens or you might see a bunny hopping through the trees.

This is such a great place to get outside and walk around if you want to get some fresh air. There are various volunteers around the gardens to keep the gardens well maintained and who are also very knowledgable about the plants. The Mercer Botanic Garden is a site designated for plant conservation research and a demonstration site.

While there are trails weaving through the gardens, you will find 5 miles worth of trails on the other side of the road. These trails are all linked together, even connecting the gardens! You will find playgrounds and picnic areas for a nice spot to let kids run free and the trails run through protected woodlands. There is a swamp, bog and a collection of maples.
