We Are Still In The Hurricane Season

With Hurricane Fiona recently leaving Puerto Rico inaccessible, devastated, and without light, now Hurricane Ian is making its way to Florida, this is just a quick reminder, that we are still in the hurricane season which begin mid June and will end in November. Hopefully you will not need it, but just in case you do, here are two lists of trusted resources that will keep you informed and up-to-date with accurate information in such event.

  • National Hurricane Center – The central hub where many news outlets get their information.
  • Space City Weather – Provides information based on the latest developments. You can also get the  app for iPhones and Android.
  • Harris County Flood Warning System – Here, you can create an account and sign up to receive phone alerts from that provides up-to-the-minute information on flood levels across Houston and Harris County.
  • Ready Harris – This Harris County resource provides essential information for preparedness, the latest on tropical threats, and support systems that crop up across the region following severe weather and other disasters.
  • Houston Transtar Map – Transtar Map provides frequently updated information so you know where you can and cannot go.
  • Houston Chronicle Weather – This local newspaper remains one of the best places to get in-depth reporting on situations across the region, including things like electricity restoration, relief efforts, and assistance information.
