Sugar Land Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council Class Set for 2022-2023

Sugar Land, TX –Applications for the 2022-2023 Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) class opened on Sept. 6 at https://www.sugarlandtx.gov/volunteer

The monthly meetings will be held in-person at various city facilities. Interested students should submit completed applications by 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 27.

MYAC empowers youth to become active community members by providing an overview of opportunities to impact the future of Sugar Land through local government public service. As part of MYAC, students meet city staff from various departments as well as their local elected officials, work with other Sugar Land students and commit to making a lasting impact on the city’s future. MYAC needs motivated and passionate Sugar Land youth to learn more about their community and serve as young ambassadors.

Eligible students must be high school juniors for the 2022-2023 school year. Students must live in Sugar Land or communities in the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction that have adopted strategic partnership agreements with the city, including portions of Riverstone. Addresses inside city limits can be verified at www.sugarlandtx.gov/myneighborhood; to confirm addresses in the ETJ, contact myac@sugarlandtx.gov
